SPECIAL FEATURES OF LOW VOLUME SEQUENCERS

The Dual Sequencer upper reservoir is divided in half, allowing the researcher to run identical or independent buffer conditions on either side. This feature is also convenient for the researcher who occasionally wants to run just one side of the unit.

The reservoirs' low profile design requires less buffer to maintain buffer flow through the gel. Save expense by using as little as 250ml of buffer per reservoir for the 20cm wide units, and 400ml per reservoir for the 33cm units.

Flip-lids remain attached to chamber even when open, for convenience and ease of use. (Pictured at right).

Convenient built-in, epoxy-coated aluminum plates help to evenly distribute the heat generated during electrophoresis, eliminating the "smile effect." These heat dispersion plates are anodized for electrical isolation and white epoxy-coated for easy visualization of tracking dyes. These aluminum plates are also spring-mounted to reduce stress when clamping on sequencing glass plates and to help provide a close and even contact with the back glass plate.

Quick-disconnect tubing coupling with shut-off valves or ball valve with simple on-off lever can be ordered as alternatives to the tubing adapters, simplifying buffer disposal. (See here).

The Dual Sequencer's rotating base allows unit to swivel providing easy access to either side of the unit. A removable peg locks the base of the unit into place, providing stability for either 180° rotation. Simply load one side, remove peg, rotate, replace peg, and continue loading alternate side.

Upper and lower reservoirs may be removed from the body of the unit for ease in cleaning.

Acrylic bar clamp provides equal pressure along entire width of the glass plate/comb sandwich eliminating capillary leakage of sample while loading sharktooth combs. This clamp minimizes glass plate fractures due to the "bending" that can occur from the uneven pressure of side clamps alone, resulting in longer plate life.
