SPECIAL FEATURES OF
ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT SEQUENCERS
 | Unsurpassed Versatility - designed to adapt to
changing methodologies. Can run short gels for oligonucleotide
separations as well as preparative DNA separations or long gels for
analytical sequencing on same unit by ordering appropriate accessories.
Both Single and Dual Adjustable systems are offered in two widths, (20cm
and 33cm) and provide flexibility to run 22cm, 32cm, 42cm, 52cm, or
62cm. The single system also offers additional heights of 82cm, or
1-meter gel lengths.
| A wide selection of precision-machined combs
and spacers is available, including specially configured sharktooth
combs for multi-channel pipettor loading, and linear or exponential
wedge spacers. (See accessories.)
| Optional acrylic bar clamp provides equal
pressure along entire width of the glass plate/comb sandwich eliminating
capillary leakage of sample while loading sharktooth combs. This clamp
minimizes glass plate fractures due to the "bending" that can
occur from the uneven pressure of side clamps alone, resulting in longer
plate life. (See picture at right).
| The maximum gel length of the Single
Adjustable System can be easily extended up to 1 meter by purchasing
longer accessories. For example, if a researcher has a SG-500-33 (52cm
capability, 33cm width) sequencer and desires to run 1-meter gels, this
is accomplished simply by ordering 1-meter guide rods, glass plates,
spacer sets, and accessory aluminum plate (if required).
| Both upper and lower reservoirs have drains
with tubing adapters for easy disposal of radioactive buffer solutions (click
here for buffer disposal options). Bottom buffer reservoir
conveniently detaches from base of unit for ease in cleaning and
disposal of radioactive buffer solutions.
| Anodized heat dispersion plates can be ordered
to clamp on to glass plates to evenly distribute the heat generated
during electrophoresis, eliminating the "smile effect."
| Compressible, long-lasting silicone gasket on
face of unit provides leak-proof seal when glass plates are clamped in
place.
| The Dual Sequencer's rotating base allows unit
to swivel, providing easy access to either side of the unit. A removable
peg locks the base of the unit into place, providing stability for
either 180° rotation. Simply load one side,
remove peg, rotate, replace peg, and continue loading alternate side. |

SAFETY FEATURES
Safety covers are extended over glass plate sandwich on upper reservoir
for maximum protection and have attached power leads. Safety covers are
easily removed with a counter-balance push button.
